HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Born in New Jersey and raised across the country, I grew up in a Navy family — my father served for 15 years, and my mother balanced part-time work while raising me. No matter where we moved, books were my constant. Reading and writing became my refuge, and from an early age, I dreamed of publishing a book.

My plans took a turn during senior year, when both my mom and grandmother were diagnosed with breast cancer. I chose to stay close to home instead of going to college — a decision I don’t regret, even though it meant pausing my creative goals. Thankfully, after a double mastectomy, my mother was declared cancer-free. Not long after, we lost my grandfather to a heart condition in 2021.

I entered the workforce and tried just about every part-time gig you can imagine: retail, customer service, food service, warehouses, acting, cosmetology, real estate. Nothing sparked joy — but I’ve come to see those experiences as my own wonderful character development, that adds depth, realism, and personality to my writing.

In November 2024, I lost my grandmother — the woman who first nurtured my imagination.

That grief is what pulled me back to the page with renewed purpose. I began writing again, exploring themes of loss, love, family, and fantasy — rediscovering the magic that made me fall in love with storytelling in the first place.

Today, I work in an office by day, and write by night. I’ve participated in many writing workshops that helped me shape my ideas into full-fledged stories — and I’m finally walking the path I once thought I’d lost.

I write to heal, to dream, and to connect — and I’m so grateful to share my journey with you.
